The Lake Norman Marine Commission met last night at the Charles Mack Citizen’s Center on Main Street in Mooresville. The main topic of the meeting was the need for regulating short term rentals for homes, boats and boat docks. Local business man and developer, Rick Howard, said, “When these people come down here from Ohio or New York or wherever they come from, they come for one reason and one reason only…to party.” Nothing was decided or voted on last night, but Kermit Taylor from Duke Energy did say that’s it’s not Duke’s job to take enforcement action on someone who rents their house to someone who wants to use their boat dock.
