WSIC is looking for a Freelance Sports Content Creator to help us grow our coverage of the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, Charlotte Hornets, and Carolina Hurricanes across our digital platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring sports journalist, creator, or broadcaster looking to build a portfolio, gain real-world media experience, and grow their personal brand while covering the biggest teams in the Carolinas.

Compensation

This is a freelance, per-project position. Compensation is paid per approved post and is based on experience, quality of work, and scope of content created.

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain professional sports media experience, expand their portfolio, and build industry connections while covering the teams they love.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging social media content before, during, and after games

  • Attend Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC home games and provide live coverage

  • Produce short-form videos, interviews, photos, and written updates

  • Deliver a weekly local sports segment on Good Morning LKN

  • Stay current on Charlotte-area sports news, trades, injuries, and storylines

  • Collaborate with the WSIC team on sports coverage across digital, radio, and social media

  • Help grow WSIC's sports audience through creative and engaging storytelling

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Loves local sports and follows the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, Charlotte Hornets, and Carolina Hurricanes

  • Has experience creating content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or X

  • Is comfortable speaking on camera or on the radio

  • Can capture quality video and photos using a smartphone or camera

  • Is dependable, organized, and able to meet deadlines

  • Has strong writing and communication skills

  • Can attend Panthers and Charlotte FC home games in person

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sports media, journalism, broadcasting, podcasting, or content creation

  • Basic video editing skills using CapCut, Instagram Edits, or similar software

  • Knowledge of social media trends and audience engagement

  • Existing portfolio or examples of sports-related content

Sales Associate

WSIC News | Lake Norman, NC

WSIC is seeking a driven, community-focused Sales Associate to build and manage a personal book of business selling advertising and sponsorship solutions across WSIC Radio and Lake Norman Woman Magazine.

This role is ideal for someone who lives and breathes Lake Norman, thrives on relationship-based sales, and understands how local media helps businesses grow.

Location & Work Structure

  • Must live in the Lake Norman area or surrounding communities

  • Position is fully remote

  • Occasional in-person meetings, community networking, and local engagement are required

What You’ll Do

Sales & Business Development

  • Build and manage your own book of business across WSIC Radio and Lake Norman Woman Magazine

  • Sell advertising, sponsorships, and integrated marketing solutions to local businesses

  • Identify new prospects and develop long-term advertiser relationships

  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and follow-ups

  • Collaborate with WSIC’s sales, digital, and editorial teams to create customized campaigns

Community Engagement

  • Actively network within the Lake Norman community

  • Attend local events, business functions, and networking opportunities

  • Serve as a brand ambassador for WSIC and Lake Norman Woman Magazine

  • Relationship-driven salesperson with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Confident communicator who enjoys meeting people and building trust

  • Organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented

  • Sales, media, marketing, or advertising experience is a plus

  • Comfortable representing the brand in professional and community settings

Compensation

  • 100% Commission based

  • We pay the highest commission in the marketplace and offer extensive training on all our offereings.
