A new study by Wallet Hub to determine how women are faring and which states offer the best opportunities are for them found the Tarheel state coming in number 28 out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The study measured 25 key indicators of living standards for women. The best states, according to the study, are Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Connecticut, while Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi came in at the very bottom.
