UNC Wilmington Student Dies from Covid

North Carolina college student Tyler Gilreath, 20, an unvaccinated sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, has died from COVID-19 complications this week, three days after moving onto campus, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. Prior to his August 20th diagnosis, Gilreath had been resisting getting vaccinated, despite his mother Tamra Demello’s repeated pleas over months for him to get inoculated. He believed he was young and healthy with no comorbidities, and thus was protected from the vaccine’s benefits.
