WBTV is reporting that one person is dead after a two-car crash Tuesday in Catawba County. Highway Patrol troopers said the crash happened around 5pm on Saint James Church Road at Sunset Street. Two Kia cars crashed into each other, according to troopers. The driver of one of the vehicles, Vance Bentley, 82, of Newton, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries. The two passengers in the other car had non-life-threatening injuries.
