There were about 75 people in attendance late Monday afternoon for the Smithville Community Coalition’s March on Town Hall. Smithville is an historic black community in Cornelius. The coalition says the community has been neglected by the town for the past 50 years. The group is demanding $6.6 million out of $9.6 million ARPA dollars the town of Cornelius will receive…exactly two thirds of the funds. PHOTO credit: Cornelius Today.
