An airplane crashed into a tractor-trailer yesterday on Interstate 85 South, near the Davidson County Airport in Lexington. The accident occurred at around 5:35pm killing the pilot and sparking a small fire, the N.C. State Highway Patrol said. The FAA said the Beechcraft Barron lost altitude upon takeoff from the airport. The name of the pilot was not released. The truck driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, officials say. *Photo Credit: Winston Salem Journal
