An airplane crashed into a tractor-trailer yesterday on Interstate 85 South, near the Davidson County Airport in Lexington. The accident occurred at around 5:35pm killing the pilot and sparking a small fire, the N.C. State Highway Patrol said. The FAA said the Beechcraft Barron lost altitude upon takeoff from the airport.
