WCNC is reporting that two people were shot and killed at a home that serves as a day care in Kannapolis yesterday, police said. Kannapolis police were called to a home on James Street for a reported shooting a few minutes after 8 a.m. Officers said two people were found dead at the home. They were identified as 61-year-old Sharon Chambers and her nephew, 46-year-old Benny Sloan Jr. Detectives with the Kannapolis Police Department said the shooting was related to a domestic incident and is not considered a random act. Detectives later determined the home also housed a day care. Kannapolis police said no children were present at the time of the shooting. According to police, Marlon Tyrone Anderson, 49, is facing charges for two counts of first-degree murder and possession of firearm by a felon.
