A house fire has taken the life of the president of the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina, officials in Lake Waccamaw said Saturday. Ricky Creech perished after the fire broke out around 1am, WECT TV reported. Firefighters arrived to find “heavy smoke and flames” at the front of the home, Lake Waccamaw Fire and Rescue Chief Brandy Nance said. Two dogs that worked at the Boys & Girls Home also died in the blaze.
