Raleigh police chief Estella Patterson spoke about her passion for church, family, and community while outlining her priorities for the Raleigh Police Department at a well-attended swearing-in ceremony today. Patterson succeeds Cassandra Deck-Brown, who retired on June 30. Today, she talked about her top three priorities in the new role — strengthening police and community trust, reducing violent crime, and assessing internal structures and morale within the Raleigh Police Department.
