Later this year, those who get a new phone number in southeastern North Carolina will see a new area code. Organizers with the North American Numbering Plan Administrator said the remaining supply of available new telephone numbers in the 910 area code will be exhausted sometime in late 2022. At that point, assignment of new numbers using the 472 area code will begin.
