The N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a $261.8 million contract to Webber, LLC to construct 3.1 miles of the eastern section of future Interstate 74 (Winston-Salem Northern Beltway) between I-40 and Salem Parkway/U.S. 421. Some minor work on this project is anticipated to begin as early as February with most work starting in the spring. Work for this section is expected to be complete by November 2026.
