The Patch is reporting the upcoming Labor Day holiday celebrates workers in North Carolina, and many of them are either members of, or represented by, unions. Union membership in North Carolina was at 3.1 percent in 2020, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics from earlier this year. That’s approximately 128,000 North Carolina employees who were members of unions when the data was taken.
