North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein has filed four lawsuits against 14 manufacturers of Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF), a fire suppressant used widely by firefighters, the military, and other first responders. Stein alleges that AFFF contains PFAS, or “forever chemical compounds that are manmade, are toxic, persist in the environment, accumulate in people, and have serious health risks.”
