National Right to Life announced its endorsement of Congressman Ted Budd for election to the United States Senate in North Carolina.
“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Ted Budd for U.S. Senate,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Ted Budd has demonstrated strong pro-life leadership in the House, and his election will be crucial as we fight back against the extreme Biden-Schumer pro-abortion agenda.”
In the U.S. House, Congressman Budd voted for pro-life protections to safeguard the lives of unborn babies and their mothers.
Congressman Budd opposes using tax dollars to pay for abortion and to fund abortion providers. He voted to defend the longstanding Hyde Amendment, which bars federal tax dollars from being used for abortions in many federal programs. The Hyde Amendment has saved an estimated 2.5 million lives since its passage in 1976.
Congressman Budd voted against the House version of the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act, which really should be called the “Abortion Without Limits Until Birth Act” because it would enshrine abortion in federal law and policies, and it would tear down pro-life protections on the state level including parental involvement and informed consent laws.
“Pro-life North Carolinians are prepared to work hard to elect Ted Budd and defeat Cheri Beasley in November,” said Bill Pincus, M.D., president of North Carolina Right to Life. “We recognize that this race may determine whether we have a pro-life or a pro-abortion majority in the Senate next year.”
Congressman Budd’s opponent, Cheri Beasley, supports a policy of abortion-on-demand for any reason, and she would use tax dollars to pay for it.
“Congressman Budd is dedicated to advancing policies that protect both unborn children and their mothers from the violence of abortion,” said Tobias. “We look forward to working with Ted Budd in the Senate to build a culture of life.”
