A N.C. Department of Transportation contractor plans to begin a three-year bridge replacement project in Rowan County next month. On April 11th, Smith-Rowe plans to close both lanes of the eastbound bridge on N.C. 49 over the Yadkin River. Work is scheduled to take place from 7am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed by March of 2025.
