Agenda Includes Winnabow Incorporation, Financing Requests for Housing, Sewer/Water
The Local Government Commission (LGC) staff is recommending against a petition by the Brunswick County community of Winnabow to incorporate as a chartered municipality. The commission will also consider approval of a $105.1 million bond package requested by the N.C. Medical Care Commission to build an independent living apartment building in Durham (Durham County). Those are among action items on the agenda for today’s meeting of the LGC, which will be held at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee. The remote meeting location is part of an initiative by State Treasurer Dale Folwell, to bring Raleigh directly to the people.
