Authorities have identified human remains that were discovered earlier this month in Cabarrus County as a Mount Pleasant man who had been missing since August 2021. The remains were found in a resident’s back yard near Pine Cross Drive in Mount Pleasant. Upon arrival, authorities secured the scene and determined that the remains were human. The remains were later determined to be missing missing person William “Quincy” Piland, of Mount Pleasant. An investigation is under way.
