A Statesville listener called WSIC News to make us aware of a phone scam that preys on the elderly during this Christmas season. The scammer calls and says, “Congratulations—you haven’t missed a payment, so you have this great reward coming…” Then the scammer starts asking for your personal information. So, beware…if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
