In Raleigh, a federal grand jury has returned a two-count indictment charging Abhishek Krishnan, a citizen of the Republic of India, regarding his receipt of unemployment insurance benefits funded by the federal government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He received approximately $40,650 in pandemic unemployment assistance by using other people’s identities in his fraudulent application.
