Former Miss USA and Charlotte lawyer Cheslie Kryst died Sunday from an apparent suicide in New York City, her family said. Kryst, 30, won the Miss USA pageant in 2019 and finished in the top 10 of the Miss Universe pageant that same year. Due to COVID-19, Kryst, an Extra TV correspondent, held the Miss USA title longer than any prior winner (557 days). Her family confirmed Kryst’s death in a statement, according to Extra. *PHOTO CREDIT: Miss USA Pageant.
