Roy Cooper has ordered American and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff today to honor a Salisbury man, Henry Ellis, who was killed on November 30th, 1950 in the Korean war. Ellis was listed as killed in action but his remains were never found. A Department of Defense medical examiner determined the remains to be those of Ellis. A military funeral with honors is scheduled for today on the campus of the Salisbury VA, with burial in National Cemetery.
