The American Meteor Society has released footage of a fireball streaking across the skies of eastern North Carolina on Friday evening. The space organization’s Meteor Watch team said in a Facebook post that the fireball was a meteor that skimmed the coast of North Carolina, becoming visible at an altitude of about 48 miles above the Earth’s surface.
