Lake Norman Media Group is reporting that local businesses and neighborhoods in the Denver area are stepping up surveillance efforts as Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) cameras continue popping up around the community. The motion-activated cameras capture the make, model, color and license plate of each vehicle that passes, as well as unique alterations like roof racks, decals and bumper stickers. Footage is stored using the Amazon Web Services cloud, where all data is fully encrypted and permanently deleted after 30 days, according to Flock. Photo credit: Matt Chapman/Lake Norman Media Group
