Mount Tabor High School in Winston Salem is currently on lock-down. There is a large law enforcement presence at the school. Other schools in the area, including Parkland High School, are locked down as well, but this is out of an abundance of caution, not a report of any secondary incidents. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the shooting on their Facebook page. One student was injured and all other students are safe, according to police. Winston-Salem police has their hazardous devices unit on scene. They are actively looking for the suspect. Police say the campus is secure. Parents are asked to go to the Harris Teeter on Peacehaven Road and are advised that buses might be delayed in the afternoon. Stay tuned to WSIC for any updates that may come from law enforcement.
