The remains found behind a home in Conover on September 16th have been identified as Richard Lee Morris, 54. The Conover man was reported missing on August 26th of last year. Police say they received a tip last month that a body had possibly been buried in the backyard of a residence on Fourth Avenue Southwest. Investigators said they found evidence inside the grave and noted the grave didn’t appear to be recent. Police say the remains were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for an autopsy. The cause of death is not known.
