A 24-year-old man was killed after being shot multiple times early yesterday morning in downtown Asheville, according to a news release from the Asheville Police Department. At 2:20am, officers were patrolling when they heard gunshots, according to the release. They found Jamel Tyjon Grant, 24, lying on the ground. They performed life-saving procedures, however, Grant died at Mission Hospital. An investigation is underway.
