Amy Ward, Director of Senior Community Connections with Aging in Place Senior Services, joined Good Morning LKN to share how the nonprofit helps older adults in the Lake Norman area remain active, independent, and connected. Through volunteer-driven transportation, wellness programs, and social gatherings like coffee meetups, ice cream socials, and lake outings, the organization helps combat loneliness while supporting seniors and the “sandwich generation” caring for aging parents. Amy highlighted how simple services like rides to doctor appointments or errands often lead to meaningful friendships and renewed independence for local seniors.
