Alexander Railroad Company will receive $218,660 for mainline crosstie upgrades and track improvements in Alexander and Iredell Counties. The funds are part of the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Freight Rail & Rail Crossing Safety Improvement Program. In addition, 12 other short line railroads in the state are receiving funds.
