Mooresville Police Department (MPD) Officers responded to a reported traffic crash near the intersection of N Church Street and E Iredell Avenue yesterday afternoon just before 5:30pm. After arriving on scene, Officers discovered that a moped scooter had collided with a utility pole in a single vehicle crash. The driver of the moped, identified as 66-year-old Norman Caldwell of Mooresville, was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is underway.
