A 73-year old Rocky Mount man was killed in a boating accident in the Tar River Reservoir on Saturday around 2:40pm, according to Rocky Mount police. John McManus struck a pier and was ejected from his boat. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission says McManus was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
