The Statesville Record Landmark is reporting that around 300 people stopped by Harris Park on Saturday for the sixth annual Stop the Violence Cookout. Organizer Geron White said that, along with the food, fun and efforts to make Statesville safer, 27 bikes were given out to children during the event.
