A prize of more than a half-million dollars from a May drawing will not be awarded if the owner of a winning ticket bought in northern Mecklenburg County in May doesn’t claim the winnings soon, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Friday. The ticket was purchased for the Wednesday, May 12 Cash 5 drawing and will expire on Tuesday, Nov. 9. It was sold at the 7-Eleven at 9025 Mallard Creek Road. The unclaimed prize is $536,959.
