Windy Daniels, Development Coordinator for the Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center, joined Good Morning LKN to discuss the organization’s mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured and orphaned native North Carolina wildlife. From baby possums and squirrels to snapping turtles and non-venomous snakes, Windy shared how the center’s team of veterinarians, rehabilitators, and volunteers works to protect wildlife while educating the community about the important role these animals play in a healthy ecosystem.

During the conversation, Windy highlighted common misconceptions about wildlife, the importance of coexistence, and how residents can help when they encounter injured animals. She also discussed volunteer opportunities, wildlife transport programs, and the center’s 140-acre conservation property in Iron Station, which provides a safe habitat for animals returning to the wild.
