Both the Senate and House have introduced legislation, called “Choose Your School, Choose Your Future,” to dramatically expand Opportunity Scholarships. The program offers taxpayer-funded grants to cover some or all of the cost of a private K-12 education for families who wish to pursue that option. According to researchers at Western Carolina University, the policy may improve student mental health.
