Wednesday, U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) released a statement chiding Governor Cooper’s partisan publicity tour seeking to derail bipartisan legislation advancing through the General Assembly, including the budget process. As Speaker of the House in North Carolina, Tillis led the creation of the Opportunity Scholarship Program and an override of then-Governor Perdue’s veto of a bipartisan budget.
