Job Fairs & Other Events Scheduled
North Carolina will celebrate “Employ A Veteran Week,” November 7-11, with a variety of events that help connect veterans to jobs and other services, Governor Roy Cooper announced today.
“We owe our military service members, veterans and their families a debt of gratitude for their contributions to their communities and our nation,” Governor Cooper said. “In addition to honoring our heroes with jobs, employers get excellent, well trained, motivated and disciplined employees when they hire veterans, and we want to support and encourage more of it.”
Local events focused on helping veterans find employment and access other services include:
Monday, November 7 through Thursday, November 10
- 8:30-10:30 a.m. each day – Haywood County NCWorks Career Center serves breakfast and beverages to Veterans, 1170 N Main St., Waynesville, NC.
- 9 a.m. – noon on Monday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday – Veterans-centered Hiring Events with one employer per day at NCWorks Career Center, 1830-B Tillery Place, Raleigh, NC. Employers are scheduled to include Builders First Source, Grace Federal Solutions, LLC, Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. and All Care Home Health Agency.
Tuesday, November 8
- 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Veterans Job & Resource Fair at NCWorks Career Center, 48 Grove Street, Asheville, NC.
- 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Veterans Day Job Fair at the National Guard Armory, 301 Glenburnie Drive, New Bern, NC.
- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – NCWorks Onslow County Veterans Job Fair at the American Legion, 146 Broadhurst Rd., Jacksonville, NC.
- 12 noon -3 p.m. – Veterans & Civilians Job Fair at NCWorks Career Center, 403 Conover Station SE, Conover, NC.
Wednesday, November 9
- 9 a.m. – Veterans Coffee at Richard Childress Racing, 425 Industrial Dr., Welcome/Lexington, NC.
- 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Veterans Job & Resource Fair at NCWorks Career Center, 48 Grove Street, Asheville, NC.
- 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Veterans Multi-Employer Hiring Event at the NCWorks Career Center- Union County, 1125 Skyway Drive, Monroe, NC.
- 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Veterans Stand Down at the National Guard Armory, 301 Glenburnie Drive, New Bern, NC.
