The Troutman Town Council unanimously approved its 2023-2024 fiscal year town budget Thursday night. The budget features a $2.46 million total increase from this year, rising from $6.6 to $9.1. The town council reduced its property tax rate from 52 to 50 cents per $100 in property valuation. However, as a result of the county’s recent property revaluation, which saw dramatic rises in property values, the town will add $2.372 million in ad valorem tax collections.
