Susan Doggett, Senior Vice President of Development for Special Olympics North Carolina, joined Good Morning LKN to discuss how the organization is creating opportunities for more than 53,000 athletes and unified partners across all 100 North Carolina counties. From year-round sports training and competition to life-changing programs that build confidence, friendships, and community, Special Olympics continues to break down barriers for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Susan also shared exciting news about the launch of pickleball as one of the organization’s newest sports, thanks to a partnership with The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen. Community members will have opportunities to volunteer, coach, compete as unified partners, and support athletes as the program expands throughout the Lake Norman region.
