Friday night marked the start of a new season for the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, leading off with the first pitch at Atrium Health Ballpark in over 200 days. Last year’s attendance numbers were low, but this year with pandemic restrictions lifted, the game brought in a full crowd. Team management says there were nearly 5,000 fans in the stands.
