An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close a section of Interstate 85 in Rowan County from 8 pm Sunday until 5 am Monday. During that time, lanes of the I-85 South bridge that carry traffic over Innes Street (between mile markers 78-76) will be closed. The two right lanes will be closed first to make repairs to the right bridge expansion joints before the closure shifts to the left two lanes for repairs to the joints on the left side. Exit 76 will remain open while work is ongoing. Drivers are reminded to slow down and remain alert for crewmen while driving through the work zone.
