Cornelius Today is reporting that a contest for Huntersville mayor is shaping up this fall after Mayor Melinda Bales announced her intentions to run for NC House of Representatives District 98, which is currently held by John Bradford. Two sitting commissioners, Dan Boone and Derek Partee, have announced they will run for mayor. The mayor’s office, like the commissioners, is a two-year term. Bradford, a Cornelius resident, has announced plans to run for NC Treasurer.
