On Wednesday February 15, 2023, at 7:17 a.m., Mooresville Police Department (MPD) received a call of a car stopped in the intersection of Oak Street and Statesville Avenue.
As responding MPD Officers approached the car in question, the Officers found the driver was unresponsive and armed with a handgun. After a brief standoff with the driver, the Officers were able to remove the driver from the car and place him under arrest. The driver was the only occupant of the car. During the arrest, a handgun, cocaine, other narcotics, and cash were seized from the driver’s possession.
The driver, Zachary Dominic LaForce, 26, of Mooresville was charged with (F) Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, (F) Possession with the Intent to Sell or Deliver cocaine, (F) Possession of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a school, (F) Maintaining a Vehicle for the use or sell of controlled substance, (M) Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, (M) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and (M) Resist, Delay, or Obstruct an officer. LaForce was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
