A small plane landed in Lake Norman yesterday afternoon due to engine issues, according to NC Highway Patrol. The incident happened around 3:40pm near Long Island Marina. Troopers say the single-engine Sea Ray was en route to Statesville Airport before experiencing engine failure. The pilot was able to make a hard landing in Lake Norman. He and the single passenger on board were treated for minor injuries by EMS.
