Padgett Vaughn, VP of Volunteer Operations at Heart Math Tutoring, joined Good Morning LKN to share how one-on-one tutoring is helping elementary students strengthen foundational math skills while building confidence in the classroom. The Charlotte nonprofit recently expanded to J.V. Washam Elementary in Cornelius, where volunteers are paired with students for game-based tutoring designed to make math approachable, engaging, and personalized.
Vaughn also explains why volunteers do not need to be math experts to make an impact and how consistent support from a caring adult can change the way a child approaches learning. Find volunteer opportunities at HeartTutoring.org.
