Charlotte Stories is reporting that Charlotte’s iconic Olde Mecklenburg Brewery just announced plans to invest over $18 million to speed up the development of their 3 new locations around the Charlotte region. The first of the 3 locations to open will be Ballantyne, set to open the first of next year. The South Charlotte brewery will feature over 14,000 sqft of inside dining/drinking space, 7,000 sqft of outdoor patio space, and will include a family zone with a playground.
The second location scheduled to open is in Mount Holly, and will include a 2-story, 7,000 sqft restaurant/brewery overlooking the river. The new Cornelius beirgarten will be the largest of the three and will become the anchor of a massive mixed use project on a 24 acre site just north of Antiquity. The final development will include 398 apartments, 50 townhomes, and a new northern OMB brewery and beer garden. The Cornelius biergarten could employ up to 150 people.
