This morning, North Carolina State Representative Tricia Cotham (D-112), held a press conference announcing her intention to switch her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, giving Republicans in the state House of Representatives a Supermajority. Republicans in the Tar Heel State will now have supermajorities in the House and Senate, giving them the number of votes needed to override a veto from Democrat Governor Roy Cooper. Republicans will now have 25 supermajorities in House and Senate chambers nationwide.
