Cornelius Today is reporting that a major gas line break that sounded like a roaring jet at Alexander Farms brought traffic to a halt yesterday on Westmoreland and West Catawba Avenue, where the $110 million mixed-use project is under construction. Officials say the leak was under control by 3:55pm yesterday and traffic resumed as normal at 4:20pm. The roaring gas explosion could be heard as far away as Birkdale.
