A man has died after falling off Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina, according to the Avery County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said that around 10am Sunday, a man was reported missing after being seen on the mountain. The man, who has not been identified, was last seen at one of the park’s overlooks, according to deputies. Deputies said crews recovered the man’s body at the bottom of a cliff after a brief search.
