The Carolina Journal is reporting that Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson said that he doesn’t consider himself a politician but rather a public servant, as he delivered the Republican response to Roy Cooper’s final State of the State address Monday night. In a delivery that had tones of a campaign trail speech, Robinson shared a personal story about his mother taking a job as a custodian instead of going on welfare after his abusive father died. Robinson said it was from her example that he learned the value of hard work.
